This striking composite image features the mile-long factory floor of what was one of the largest former car plants in the world. The vivid colours are a result of graffiti and the after effects of this space now being used as an official paint-balling venue.
This piece is part of Adam’s “Abandoned Spaces” series that explores the beauty that can be found in the decay of all dilapidated places.
The reverse acrylic subframe provides a sleek and contemporary finish to this piece. This framing technique involves a fine art C-Type photographic print mounted between a sheet of perspex and an aluminium-backing sheet. It removes the need for a heavy frame, eliminates unwanted light reflections and comes with a subframe on the back, making it easy to hang (it is much lighter than a frame with glass). It also allows the piece to sit virtually flush to a wall when hung, adding to its modern aesthetic.
